Mussoorie- Queen of Hills
Situated in Garhwal of Uttarakhand, Mussoorie is a beautiful hill station which has been the queen of hills since time immemorial. It is just 35 km south of Dehradun, and is at an altitude of approximately 6,580 feet above sea level and the panoramic view of the snow capped Himalayan mountains and the broad expanse of the Doon Valley down below can be seen. Mussoorie is a cool place and has colonial style with natural beauty and is one of the most favorite tourist places in North India.

Mussoorie was founded in 1823 by a British officer who made it a summer resort within the colonial times. The architecture of the town still has this history with old churches, stone buildings and vintage hotels being found everywhere. A walk in the main promenade of the town (Mall Road) is a walk through history. It is a tourist attraction site and people enjoy to visit the stretch to relax and sight see since it is lined with cafes, shops and view points.
One of the most popular attractions of Mussoorie is Kempty Falls, located about 15 km away to the town. . The falling waterfall with its green hills is an ideal place to have picnic and capture the photographs. Tourists are free to take a cool bath in the cool waters or even rest in the beautiful environment.

The second peak of Mussoorie is known as Gun Hill and provides a spectacular view of the Himalayan range that also comprises some of the most well known mountains that include Bandarpoonch, Srikantha and Gangotri. A ride on the short ropeway brings people to the top and it is an enjoyable event among families and couples.
Company Garden is a place that nature lovers can not miss. It is perfect to spend an afternoon there with its trimmed lawns, flower gardens, and a mini amusement park. In the meantime, the Camel Back Road, which derives its name after the shape of its rock formation that resembles a camel hump, is a serene walking path that offers breath taking views of the sunset.
The adventure lovers have the option of visiting the local hikes, including the Nag Tibba Trek, which is a beginner trek and has the most beautiful views on top. Paragliding, zip-lining and rock climbing are also available in the vicinity.

There are also some prestigious institutions in Mussoorie like the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration where the civil servants of India are trained. The educational history of the town is also marked with the historical schools such as Woodstock and Wynberg Allen.
Mussoorie is best visited during March- June when the weather is good or during winters in case one wants to experience snowfall. Monsoons are also beautiful, however, sometimes they can stop the travel with landslides.
